Feeling lost? Read this!

“But I have no idea what else I could even do for a job!”

This is one of the most common challenges I hear from the people I work with.

They know they want something different but are unsure what that actually looks like.

And how do you start pursuing a new career when you don’t even know what you want?

I get this. I’m a big fan of certainty myself, and I sometimes struggle to take the first step unless I know exactly where I’m headed.

The problem with applying that mindset to career change is that it’s nearly impossible to figure out the final destination before you start exploring your options.

Career transitions are rarely straightforward. The process of self-reflection, researching possibilities, and taking action is rarely a straight line.

It’s more of a winding path with unexpected turns, dead ends, some exciting discoveries, and lots of coffee chats along the way. ☕

If you feel stuck but know you want something new, here are a few steps you can take today:

✅ Identify your strengths and values. What are you good at? What truly matters to you?

✅ Define what you want more of and less of in your next role. More flexibility? More challenge? Less stress? Be specific and write it down.

✅ Start talking to people. Reach out to your network to get a real insight into different roles. Ask friends to introduce you to others for casual, no-pressure chats.
